Design of a new memorial library and conference suite with chair seating for up to 85 people within existing church building. Design participation by an acoustic engineer was included to insure proper function as a lecture room. The cherry library interior has cherry ceiling coffer beams (part of the acoustic design) light cove and pilaster columns on the walls. New windows are finished to match the cherry cabinetry. Custom cherry enclosed lecture boards are hung on two walls. Design includes interior finishes, with upholstered walls, lecture seating, and library furniture. Recent aditional work has been commissioned for installation of four stained glass windows representing the four gospels. We assisted Saint Andrew's with the interview and selection of a stained glass artist and window frame modifications to accomodate the new stained glass windows. Supervised installation of custom made memorial stained glass windows designed by Foster Stained Glass.
The project included salvage of three late 1940's paintings (two on over-sized doors, one on canvas glued to the wall) by a local renowned artist, Cynthia Brandts. Concealed as part of a children's altar in the space longer in use, these have been restored and are now hung in the Parish Hall building. |
